As a Black woman I feel very beautiful. But I am curious about how men feel about us, Black men in particular. In this country (USA) Black women don't seem to be at the top of the list as far as desirability. At least that's how I see it. What do you think? Are Black/African American women beautiful?

Though the woman in this photo has a serious pose, she very much resembles my maternal grandmother, who was a beautiful lady with the prettiest, warmest smile.

'Fro Style

I'm a "young" senior, a child of the universe, happily living life in the Midwest (USA). Growing up I wore my hair in its natural state. As I reached my teen years I started wearing the "straightened" look. Hot combs for days! In college I discovered the most comfortable style for me, my "Angela Davis 'fro." It was a beautiful thing, and so easy to maintain. Since then I've tried the relaxed style, both short and longer. Never really cared for the texture of relaxed hair, just too stiff and "fried." So I eventually reverted to my old-school straightened style. But lately I've been wearing my hair mostly in its natural state, a better healthy-hair option. JD

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.

I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size.
